The church today is in serious trouble. We can see the great division in the body. There are so many different doctrines and interpretations which is evidenced by the number of different denominations worldwide. World Christian Encyclopedia in 1982 estimated around 21,000 different and separate organized religious bodies which was updated in 2001 to 33,000. The Center of the Study of Global Christianity estimated 34,000 denominations in the year 2000 and raised the estimate to 43,000 in 2012. There were around 1,600 in the year 1900. Wikipedia estimates 41,000 worldwide christian denominations. While many of these different religious bodies agree an many things, it is apparent that the church is divided on doctrine and theology. On the day of Pentecost that is recorded in the Book of Acts chapter two the church was established. One church and all the members that were added to that one church daily continued in one accord. Is it any wonder that people in this generation are not churched. How can anyone make a decision about salvation with so many different ideas and doctrines being thrown at them. In today's society, especially in the United States, it is so easy to just find a church that teaches what someone believes...not the truth, just what that person already believes. I think this happens because so many people in this generation refuse to read God's Word. It's just so much easier for the guy who went to school to learn the bible to teach it to them, right? Just like in our schools with children being taught all kinds of things, it is happening in the churches too. There is only one truth. There is only one faith. There is only one body of Christ. A husband can only have one wife...right? Jesus will have only one ride and her attributes are listed in God's Word. Jesus requires a bride that is faithful, kind, obedient and most of all...He wants a bride that loves his Father as much as she love him. He wants a bride who is not an outlaw. One that is lawful and loves her neighbor as she does herself. He wants a bride that is pure and doesn't run around with other suitors. He wants a bride who only desires to please him. He wants a bride that will patiently wait for him to return for her while he takes care of his Father's business. Do you see? This is what God's Word says. Don't take my word for it, take HIS Word for it. There are so many people looking for answers in this age. We need to join together in one accord to preach the Gospel of Jesus in it's simplicity instead of trying to show off our knowledge for our own glory. Of course this is only my opinion. Maybe by picking up the bible and reading it like God meant for his children to do when He inspired men to write it you will be able to find out on your own if what I am saying is true. Don't trust me or any other man. Trust God.
